Your Future Role

Take on a new challenge and apply your welding expertise in a dynamic rail vehicle manufacturing environment. You'll work alongside experienced welders, engineers, quality professionals, and production teams to help build industry-leading transportation products.

In this role, you'll perform a variety of welding and fabrication activities while continuing to develop your technical skills and expand your knowledge of advanced welding processes. You'll play an important role in ensuring weld quality, safety, and production excellence while supporting the delivery of rail vehicles that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

We'll look to you for:



  • Performing welding operations required for rail vehicle manufacturing and assembly
  • Operating and continuing to develop proficiency with GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and Resistance Spot Welding equipment
  • Setting up welding machines with minimal supervision while following established procedures
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, work instructions, weld symbols, and welding sequences
  • Setting up and utilizing fabrication fixtures, jigs, and associated tooling
  • Welding a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Performing weld inspections and dimensional verification to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Collaborating effectively with Supervisors, Level A Welders, Engineering, and Quality teams regarding design or material changes
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Learning from experienced welders and applying feedback to meet company and customer requirements
  • Assisting with new process implementation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Utilizing digital tools and technology to support daily manufacturing activities
  • Following all Alstom Zero Deviation Procedures and Environmental, Health & Safety requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, vocational degree, welding certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 to 8 years of welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment
  • Experience working with GMAW, GTAW, and Resistance Spot Welding processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and weld symbols
  • Knowledge of welding equipment setup, operation, and safe work practices
  • Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials
  • Ability to pass applicable Level B Welder qualification tests
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and burning equipment
  • Understanding of fabrication methods, fixture setup, and basic mechanical principles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and established sequences of operation


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SMAW and FCAW welding processes
  • Knowledge of arc and spot weld inspection methods and applicable acceptance criteria
  • AWS, ANST, or equivalent welding certifications, or the ability to obtain certification
  • Familiarity with dimensional inspection and measurement techniques
  • Knowledge of post-weld finishing methods including stainless steel graining, passivation, and straightening
  • Ability to pass required visual acuity testing and demonstrate strong hand-eye coordination
  • Experience supporting process improvement and troubleshooting activities
  • Familiarity with digital manufacturing tools and technology
