Description

Serves as subject matter expert on production planning. Supports production through sales order management, forecast management, customer interface, and work order maintenance. Develops and maintains production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.

Job Responsibilities



  1. Trains and onboards new planners on system procedures and processes.



  1. Implements and drives continuous improvement activities through the application of change management and best practices.



  1. Enters sales orders and acknowledges ship dates. Monitors pricing on incoming orders to ensure they match quotes to avoid short pays.



  1. Coordinates planning activities for complex products and customer programs. Supports assigned plant's production schedules, at varying levels of complexity.



  1. Revises schedules and issues work orders to suit order changes, cancellations and/or revised forecasts. Determines revised plan in the event of failures to meet schedules. Resolves scheduling issues that may require cross-functional collaboration.



  1. Manages customer relationships by notifying customers in the event of failures to meet expectations, completing customer requests for information, and serving as point of contact for customers.



  1. Reviews and evaluates forecasts.



  1. Research late parts, identifies and brings bottlenecks to manufacturing's attention. Makes recommendations to resolve.



  1. Works closely with engineering to implement engineering changes and monitors structure (bill of material) problems.



  1. Expedites, as needed, any late deliveries from outside vendors, sub-contract, etc.



  1. Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Skills Requirements



  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.


  • Proficiency with production planning software and ERP systems.


  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.


  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.


  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.


Educational Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience required.


Experience Requirements



  • Five years of relevant experience required.


  • Prior experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
