Description

SUMMARY: The OCC Handler II is an integral part of the OCC Warehouse Team. The OCC Handler II works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to safely unload trucks, inspect incoming material, track bales using a tablet, stock material, and load the conveyor in accordance with company specifications. This position also works closely with the OCC Handler I to mentor, train, and guide newer OCC Handlers.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Over a 12-hour shift, drive a clamp truck to repetitively unload trucks in accordance with established company standards.
  • Mentor and train newer OCC Handlers as required.
  • Operate fork and clamp trucks in accordance with standards and expectations presented in training.
  • Enter all bale movements electronically in a tablet and publish inventory numbers.
  • Inspect all incoming bales and bales being loaded onto the conveyor. Use prescribed mix of bales when loading conveyor.
  • Help meet or exceed production, waste, safety, and quality goals by working as a team with your co-worker.
  • Cut beater stock with roll splitter or saw.
  • Clean and maintain loading area and work area throughout the shift.
  • Conduct a maintenance and safety check for fork/clamp truck at beginning and end of each assigned shift.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Work all scheduled outages and assist and/or perform other work as assigned.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible to work in the US.
  • Good computer skills, ability to electronically track inventory.
  • Able to communicate with all team members and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Must be team player, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to multitask in an environment with frequent changing priorities.
  • Ability to learn to operate a fork truck, clamp truck and/or bobcat.
  • Able to meet company quality and performance standards for job as specified.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.



  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts that swing between day and night shift (Dupont 12) on a weekly basis.
  • Able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing,


twisting, stopping, and pulling) and lift at least 50lbs.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Able to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment. Willingness and ability to work in confined spaces and with heights. Able to work in a tobacco free environment.
  • Willingness and ability to wear safety glasses, earplugs, hard hat, steel toes boots and any other required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
