Position Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Resolve federal, state, and local payroll tax notices and agency correspondence.
  • Maintain client payroll tax accounts, including tax registrations, account numbers, filing frequencies, and tax rates within MasterTax.
  • Administer government agency portal access and account information to support payroll tax compliance activities.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Support payroll tax filing, payment, reconciliation, and amendment processes.
  • Respond to client inquiries and partner with internal teams to resolve payroll tax issues.
  • Identify process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll tax experience in a payroll service bureau, payroll provider, tax service organization, or corporate payroll environment.
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local payroll taxes.
  • Experience researching and resolving tax notices and agency correspondence.
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with MasterTax or similar payroll tax software platforms.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance.
  • Knowledge of state unemployment tax, paid family leave programs, and local payroll tax requirements.
  • Experience maintaining tax registration and agency account information.
  • Experience working directly with government agencies.
  • Process improvement or project participation experience.

Compensation Info

The U.S. salary range for this position is $49,000.00-$86,750.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
