JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION


The Engineering Technician(s) is(are) a key resource for fixture development and sustainment at Luxottica's manufacturing facilities. The engineering technician supports the automation and fixture design team. He designs small fixtures, builds, and set up equipment.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Design small mechanical fixture for eyewear assembly.
  • Create 2D drawings and documentation for fixture components
  • Interface with machine shop to machine fixture parts
  • Build and test fixture to ensure they work properly.
  • Interface with outside vendors to outsource mechanical design for fixture for the used in production.
  • Track status of fixture and work with product engineering to prioritize fixture design/build
  • Train process tech and tech supports team on use and maintenance of new equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and debug automated equipment.
  • Resolves process problems utilizing established problem-solving methods, technical resources and collaboration with fellow associates, management, and outside vendors in performing maintenance and oversight as needed.
  • Participate to design review of automation systems.
  • Engage in project planning to identify automation opportunities.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology
  • 2+ years in a Technician Role
  • Proficient in CAD software and ability to design with Solidworks/Creo
  • Knowledge of sensors and pneumatic circuits. Ability to read elt /pneumatic diagram
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in various instruments and hand tools (wrenches, hole tapping, manual drilling)
  • Problem solving skills. Ability to get and analyze information and use them on the field
  • Ability to read, understand and communicate in English language to ensure adherence to documented procedures, safety rules and current specifications.
  • Able to understand engineering terminology.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control
  • Experience with robotic systems

Pay Range: $28.16 - $39.14
