Opportunity available for a 3rd shift Laser Operator in our Jonesboro, AR facility. Work schedule is 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Set up and operate laser cutting machines to support production.
  • Set up and changeover machines, load and edit programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install and align tooling, dies, fixtures, and gauges as required.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and identify problems with tooling and machine adjustments.
  • Maintain quality standards, inspecting the product and adjusting machinings as needed to meet product specifications.
  • Check product visually with fixed gauges and prints, including first piece inspections.
  • Determine the cause of operating difficulties and take corrective action.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment when required.
  • Move materials within the work area.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to produce a quality product/service, including reporting non-conforming materials.
  • Report unusual conditions or questionable items to lead or supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Maintain accurate records as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 to 3 years' related experience; minimum 1 year required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Knowledge of tooling and tooling maintenance.
  • Proven ability to use calipers and measurement tools to 1/32".
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Able to read blueprints and interpret measurements.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Experience working with sheet metal and able to distinguish material types including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Able to work overtime hours (more than 40 hours per week and Saturdays) as required.
  • Stand and walk continuously for 8-10 hours, if necessary.
  • Lift and carry 25 points consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
