Position Title: Machine Operator
Wage: $16.00-$21.00 per hour Shift: 1st, 2nd, Weekend Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm; 3:00pm-11:00pm; 5:00am-5:00pm (Fri-Sun); 5:00pm-5:00am (Fri-Sun) QPS Employment Group has a great Machine Operator position available at a company in West Mount Pleasant, IA. This is a 1st, 2nd, and weekend shift position with the opportunity for hire. Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Operate production equipment according to job instructions and production schedules. - Perform machine adjustments and setup changes as required for specific jobs. - Monitor production output to meet or exceed established productivity and quality standards. - Maintain customer quality requirements and inspect work for accuracy and consistency. - Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist with basic repairs as needed. - Troubleshoot equipment and production issues with minimal delay to operations. - Communicate equipment concerns, production issues, and corrective actions to management. - Provide clear communication regarding job status, production performance, and outstanding issues during shift changes. - Respond with urgency to equipment downtime situations to maintain production requirements. - Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing guidelines. - Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including lockout/tagout and Hazard Communication (HazCom) requirements. - Support continuous improvement efforts by learning new processes and identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and productivity. - Collaborate effectively with team members and other shifts to ensure smooth workflow and production continuity. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. - Operate within established production standards while supporting cost reduction initiatives and minimizing production errors. Machine Operator Requirements: - High school diploma or GED required. - Two years of manufacturing experience preferred. - Experience operating industrial or production equipment preferred but not required for candidates willing to learn. - Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and troubleshooting capabilities. - Ability to install, maintain, adjust, and repair equipment while following established safety practices. - Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance principles preferred. - Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. - Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Reliable, dependable, and accountable for assigned responsibilities and production outcomes. - Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing production needs. - Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. - Ability to bend, reach, and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment. - Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally. - Ability to stand and work on concrete surfaces for 10 to 12 hours. - Willingness to work overtime as business needs require. - Commitment to following all safety procedures and departmental SOPs.
