Position Title: Dispatcher
Wage: $17.50-$19.00 per hour Hours: 12:00pm-5:00pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Dispatcher position available at a company in West Burlington, IA. This is a part-time position with the opportunity for hire. Dispatcher Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Answer incoming telephone calls from passengers and the general public. - Schedule transportation rides and maintain accurate trip information. - Provide transit service information to passengers and community members. - Communicate schedules, instructions, route updates, and service changes to transit drivers. - Coordinate ride requests while balancing scheduling needs and service availability. - Resolve scheduling conflicts and make adjustments to accommodate rider and operational needs. - Maintain accurate records related to passenger trips and transportation schedules. - Support daily transit operations through administrative and communication activities. - Utilize computer programs and scheduling systems to manage transportation requests and service information. - Assist passengers with questions regarding transit services, routes, and scheduling procedures. Dispatcher Requirements: - High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. - One to two years of experience or training in a related field preferred. - Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills. - Ability to communicate effectively with passengers, drivers, and the public. - Ability to schedule rides while actively communicating with passengers by phone. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve scheduling conflicts. - Basic knowledge of the Southeast Iowa service area, including Des Moines, Henry, Lee, and Louisa counties. - Ability to learn and use basic computer programs, scheduling software, and office processes. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
