As the Night/Weekend On-Site Supervisor for the Duke Faculty Club, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming environment for members and guests while helping ensure smooth daily operations. You will join a team dedicated to delivering outstanding service and maintaining the high standards that make the Duke Faculty Club a valued destination for recreation, connection, and community.


Minimum Qualifications



Education



Work requires a knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles to perform routine clerical/office support duties normally acquired through a high school education.



Experience



None required above minimum education/training requirement. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

As the Night/Weekend On-Site Supervisor, you will help oversee evening and weekend operations while supporting members, maintaining club facilities, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Your initiative, professionalism, and customer-focused approach will help create an exceptional experience for all who visit the Club.


Work Schedule


  • Part-time, year-round position.
  • Approximately 5 to 12 hours per week.
  • Includes evening and weekend availability.



What You'll Do:

Provide Outstanding Member Service



  • Create a welcoming, professional, and informative environment that promotes exceptional customer service.
  • Assist members with the check-in process and respond to inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Provide front office support and serve as a helpful resource for Duke Faculty Club members.
  • Support special events and activities as needed.



Support Daily Operations



  • Participate in front office operations, including data entry, filing, copying, and general administrative support.
  • Utilize computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and web-based systems, to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform clerical responsibilities as needed.



Monitor Facilities and Club Operations



  • Assist with oversight of Duke Faculty Club facilities and grounds while ensuring compliance with opening and closing procedures.
  • Help enforce club policies and procedures to promote a safe and enjoyable environment.
  • Cover and uncover the lap pool during the spring and fall seasons.
  • Check pool chemical levels and report concerns as appropriate.
  • Collect trash from outdoor areas, including patios and tennis courts.
  • Monitor parking operations during athletic events and special events.
  • Perform light office cleaning duties, including trash collection and vacuuming.



Demonstrate Reliability and Flexibility



  • Commit to working at least one weeknight shift and one weekend shift each week.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with the Duke Faculty Club team.



What You'll Bring:


  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Professional phone etiquette and office conduct.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and web-based systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $20.00 to USD $24.00.
