JOB SUMMARY

UT Southwestern is seeking an experienced Logistics Technician, Nights to join our Logistics team; to play a key role in supporting exceptional patient care through reliable supply chain operations. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with experience in hospital/healthcare logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, inventory control, or healthcare materials management who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. Works under supervision.

As a Logistics Technician, you will be responsible for the efficient handling of goods and materials within the supply chain. Duties include managing inventory, warehousing, and distribution. Specific responsibilities may include the following:

  • Processing orders and delivery requests
  • Overseeing logistics functions
  • Scanning and accounting for inventory
  • Decontaminate used equipment
  • Coordinating transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods

Work Location: CUH Logistics; Dallas Campus; occasional travel transport to satellite locations when needed.

Shift Requirement: Night Shift - 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, must be available to work weekdays and weekends, including holidays.

JOB DUTIES

  • Deliver medical supplies, equipment, and sterile items to designated hospital departments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain crash cart readiness and compliance by utilizing expiration tracking software to restock and monitor supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish supply areas to ensure continuous departmental operations.
  • Organize supply rooms while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory audits to support accurate inventory management.
  • Monitor expiration dates and rotate stock to reduce waste and maintain product integrity.
  • Process returned items and restock reusable supplies in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Utilize inventory management systems, RTLS tracking systems, and handheld scanning devices to track and locate equipment and supplies.
  • Respond promptly to urgent supply and equipment requests from clinical staff.
  • Follow hospital safety policies, infection prevention protocols, and departmental procedures.
  • Assist with departmental projects, hospital moves, and supply chain initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain professional communication with hospital staff, vendors, and leadership through phone and electronic communication systems.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of overflow patient care areas and inclement weather response equipment.
  • Receive, inspect, stock, and organize incoming supplies and materials.
  • Coordinate rental equipment orders to support patient care operations.
  • Perform unit rounding, manage soiled areas, and clean medical equipment to maintain operational readiness.
  • Conduct food deliveries and tray pickups while rotating assignments at Zale Lipshy Hospital.
  • Assist with installation of bed cords and maintain knowledge of specialized medical cables used for powering and transmitting signals to therapeutic devices.
  • Maintain required training compliance and complete ongoing updates through Taleo.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned while consistently supporting hospital operational needs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely lift, transport, and push equipment and supplies weighing up to 5075 lbs.
