MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) an EXPERIENCED full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our teams in Brunswick, Maine, with a unique opportunity to work across two levels of care. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to provide both comprehensive addiction psychiatric care and traditional outpatient treatment within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

  • 3 days per week in our Ambulatory Outpatient Program, both located at 329 Maine Street, Brunswick, and
  • 2 days per week at our Brunswick Comprehensive Addiction Psychiatry Services Clinic

About the MaineHealth Behavioral Health Outpatient Program:

The MHBH Ambulatory Outpatient Program in Brunswick ensures timely access to comprehensive, coordinated behavioral health services for individuals and families in Cumberland County. Services include:

  • Psychiatric evaluation and medication management
  • Individual & family therapy, peer support services, and care coordination
  • Established Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program
  • Trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approaches
  • Support for co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions
  • Telehealth and hybrid care options

About MaineHealth Behavioral Health - Comprehensive Addiction Psychiatry Services - Brunswick Clinic:

The Comprehensive Addiction Psychiatry Services - Brunswick Clinic is nationally recognized for high-quality, confidential treatment for substance use disorders such as alcoholism and opioid use disorder. Serving primarily adults, we have a proven track record of helping people overcome the challenges of addiction. The program provides:

  • Structured team-based approach
  • Individualized treatment planning and group counseling
  • Withdrawal management and medications for substance use disorders
  • A multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses
  • Prevention services and recovery coaching

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree as Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
  • Two years' experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) minimum (Required)
  • Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner by the Maine State Board of Nursing and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
  • Experience providing medical services to those experiencing homelessness.
  • Experience treating psychiatric and substance use disorders, including MOUD.
  • Knowledge and comfort with trauma-informed care.
  • Must meet specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating psychiatric patients.

The pay range for this position at a 1.0 FTE is $118,138 to $152,885 annually based on the candidate's level of experience.
