Job Summary
The Carpenter Senior reports to the Facilities Assistant Director at Phoenix College and plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing campus facilities through skilled, journey-level carpentry work. This position supports a wide range of construction, repair, and preventative maintenance activities, as well as remodeling and new construction projects, all while ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes. Serving as a lead resource, the Carpenter interprets blueprints, coordinates project work, and provides guidance to ensure quality and efficiency. Additional Information

Essential Functions
40% - Performs journey-level carpentry work, including rough, finish, and specialized projects using wood and other materials. Performs preventative maintenance and general repairs on facilities and structures. Follows all safety procedures, building codes, and regulations, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Operates, maintains, and ensures proper care of carpentry tools and equipment. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of carpentry work experience equivalent to a journey-level. OR An Associate's degree or certification from a regionally accredited institution in construction technology, or a related discipline, and three (3) years of carpentry work experience equivalent to a journey-level. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Desired Qualifications
1. Experience providing lead oversight for carpentry work, including coordinating assignments and/or ensuring quality completion of projects. Special Working Conditions
