The Technical Solution Consultant partners with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to demonstrate how technology, automation, data, and AI can help organizations improve business outcomes. This role collaborates and advises with peers within the solution consulting organization, combines hands-on technical capability with business domain expertise and consultative skills, works to build and demonstrate working AI and automation solutions, and translate them into strategy, measurable value, and repeatable assets for the broader team.
Operating within Koch's Principle Based Management (PBM) culture, the Principal Technical Solution Consultant acts as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, shapes the AI and automation roadmap for customer engagements, and develops the technical depth of the wider consulting organization while continuously creating value.

A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
  • Participate in discovery and strategy sessions that connect business objectives to AI, machine learning, and automation opportunities.
  • Assist in building, configuring, and demonstrating working prototypes-including AI agents, chat-based experiences, utilizing RAG, MCP servers, ML models, and automated workflows-instead of relying solely on prebuilt assets.
  • Assist in designing and delivering transformative demonstrations and support workshops for customers/partners including demonstrating both the technical architecture and the business case.
  • Apply business domain knowledge to customer conversations - challenging and shaping process design across functions such as supply chain, manufacturing, finance, asset management, and human capital, and grounding every technology recommendation in how the business actually runs.
  • Assist in architecting end-to-end target-state solutions spanning integration, data, and cloud - defining migration paths, non-functional requirements, and the platform foundations that make AI and automation production-ready.
  • Maintain standards for Responsible AI in customer engagements, including evaluation, guardrails, data governance, security, and human oversight.
  • Partner with sales, product, engineering, and delivery teams to capture customer insight into the AI and automation roadmap.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge in the AI and automation landscape - foundation models, agent frameworks, AI-assisted development tools, and emerging platform capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with Generative AI, AI assistants, and Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering concepts for effective AI utilization.
  • Experience building and working with AI agents and agentic business processes - assisting in the design of multi-step, MCP or tool-based agents and orchestrating them across enterprise systems.
  • Experience with machine learning fundamentals - supervised and unsupervised techniques, feature engineering, model evaluation, and the practical limits of ML on enterprise data.
  • Experience with Python or a comparable language, SQL, REST APIs, and SDKs sufficient to build and troubleshoot prototypes independently.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or AWS Kiro.
  • Experience working with automation and integration tools and processes - iPaaS, workflow orchestration, RPA, event-driven architectures, APIs, and data synchronization patterns that put AI into end-to-end business processes.
  • Data foundations for AI experience - data lakes, data quality, pipelines, vector stores and embeddings, and analytics or dashboards that surface AI-driven insight.
  • Responsible AI experience - validation, bias and hallucination testing, governance, security, privacy, and human-in-the-loop oversight.
  • Business translation experience - quantifying AI and automation opportunities into measurable outcomes and communicating them credibly to both engineers and executives.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to travel 30-40% or more as needed.
