Overview of this Position:

Works within a designated territory to drive new business growth and account penetration within the parenteral market segment by effectively selling the company's contract services. Responsible to develop and manage key business relationship with commercial clients, through understanding the client's organization and business needs, to maximize client service and satisfaction in the overall best interest of GRAM. Additionally, the Sr. BDM may supervise, coach and mentor a Business Development team under the direction of the VP of Business Development. Being in this leadership role a Senior BDM is an advocate for both the company and the employee. This position is critical in the development of new business, developing and implementing strategy and nurture the customer relationship.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Finance and/or Business required.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of previous related experience with 5 to 8 years in project management, account management, sales or marketing with internal or external client-facing responsibilities in pharmaceutical or contract manufacturing industry experienced. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and experience with budgeting and forecasting.

  • Prior sales training.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Research, identify and generate new business from multiple sources including cold calling and inbound leads from the company website, active membership and networking in industry events.
  • Ensure development and expertise of his/her territory.
  • Maintain lead generation using strategic and consultative selling techniques, including methods to define the client's key value drivers. Ensure the leads is taken through the full sales process from prospecting to closing. Includes lead generation, follow-up activity, negotiations and closing.
  • Own the customer relationship, drive continuous improvement, and communicate customer needs internally. Collaborate internally and externally to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Maintain accurate customer data and updates to the Customer Relationship Management system (Sales Force). Generate timely reports (i.e. activity reports, metrics, sales targets or forecasts) as requested.
  • Understand the proposal process, including proposal review, pricing and submission to client.
  • Keep informed of competitive activities and develops relationships with competitors to foster referred business.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions as required.
  • Review proposals prior to final review by VP of Business Development.
  • Lead negotiation, under the direction of VP of Business Development and legal counsel of Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement and Clinical/Commercial Supply Agreements.
  • Manage business relationship with key accounts through understanding the client's organization and business needs in addition to understanding the GRAM perspective related to the client's business.
  • Ensure that expected service levels are being provided and that required planning and technical information is being exchanged appropriately between organizations.
  • Ensure team's timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.
  • Ensure new employees are oriented to the organization, its policies, facilities, etc. and ensure required training of all team member is complete and up-to-date.
