Leasing Specialist

What this job involves:

As a Leasing Specialist at JLL, you'll create exceptional residential experiences while driving occupancy and revenue performance. This role combines sales expertise with genuine relationship-building as you guide prospective residents through their apartment search and support current residents throughout their tenancy. You'll maintain knowledge of the local market, collaborate with marketing teams to maximize visibility, and ensure every interaction reflects our commitment to outstanding service. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Maintain leasing office, model units, vacant apartments, and common areas to meet JLL readiness standards, promptly reporting any deficiencies to the property manager

  • Conduct weekly competitor shopping and market surveys to maintain comprehensive knowledge of local market conditions, rental rates, and competitive positioning

  • Partner with marketing teams to develop and execute lead generation strategies, manage social media channels, coordinate resident events, and conduct neighborhood outreach to increase property visibility

  • Present the property, amenities, and available units to prospective residents with professionalism and expertise, employing effective sales and closing techniques including timely follow-up

  • Manage the complete rental lifecycle: respond to inquiries across all channels, convert leads to appointments, input guest cards into property management software, process applications, verify information, and prepare lease documentation

  • Coordinate move-in preparations by inspecting units, arranging lease signings, and providing comprehensive move-in information to ensure smooth resident transitions

  • Respond promptly to resident inquiries and concerns, document service requests, communicate with maintenance teams, and conduct follow-up calls to ensure satisfaction

  • Assist with resident-related functions including processing move-out notices, coordinating transfers, managing work orders, and resolving concerns with professionalism and efficiency

  • Support the property manager in maintaining established standards for grounds, safety, cleanliness, and overall property appearance

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum one year of sales and/or customer relations experience demonstrating strong interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, or similar platforms)

  • Excellent customer service abilities with a professional demeanor and attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across diverse audiences

  • Ability to work independently while contributing collaboratively within team environments

  • Must obtain real estate leasing license within 120 days of employment if required by state law

Expected Schedule: 40 hours per week across 5 days, Saturday and Sunday availability is required

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or related field

  • Previous experience in residential property leasing or multifamily housing

  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and occupancy goals

  • Experience with social media management and digital marketing strategies

  • Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and best practices
