Food Service Worker, Per Diem

The Ronald Reagan Hospital is seeking to hire a Per Diem Food Service Worker to join the Department of Nutrition. You will be part of a team that provides the best customer service relevant to the retail food service operations in our cafeterias. Primary duties include:

• Set up service lines
• Pre-plate and serve food
• Aid in the preparation of meals
• Cut fruit
• Merchandise food items and maintain the beverage station
• Act as a food runner
• Measure temperatures of hot and cold items
• Wash dishes, pans, utensils, and small equipment

This is a per diem position; schedule and working hours will vary.May convert to Career.

• Ability to work around or use strong cleaning solutions.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, and or wet areas
• Ability to lift, push or pull at least 50lb and push loaded carts weighing 350lbs.
• Basic nutrition production skills including pre-plating of retail foods and assisting with bulk preparation of food.
• Knowledge of portion control and serving procedures.
• Knowledge of retail operations such as station setup, replenishment, merchandising and inventory procedures.
• Able to read, write, and speak standard English.
• Ability to work in standing position for a long period of time; stretch, bend, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively.
• Ability to practice safe food handling techniques.
• Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co-workers, customers, supervisors and managers.
• Ability to work flexible schedule
