Job Summary

Location: 40 Tremont Street
Schedule: 32 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.; Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Join our Allergy team as a Medical Assistant and play an important role in creating a welcoming, efficient, and supportive experience for patients from the moment they arrive through the completion of their visit. In this role, you will partner closely with providers, nurses, and other members of the care team to support high-quality patient care while also helping keep daily clinic operations running smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for a Medical Assistant who enjoys a blend of hands-on clinical care and patient-facing administrative responsibilities. In addition to rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting information, preparing exam rooms, and supporting procedures, Medical Assistants in this practice also perform front desk duties such as greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, supporting patient check-in/check-out, and assisting with general office needs.

What You'll Do
*Welcome and room patients, prepare exam rooms, and ensure providers have the equipment and information needed for each visit.
*Interview patients, obtain and document medical information, and measure vital signs, weight, and height in the medical record.
*Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and provider instructions while helping patients feel informed and supported.
*Assist with specimens, logging, and preparation for testing; perform phlebotomy when competency has been demonstrated.
*Support immunization inventory, monitor expiration dates, and administer immunizations when applicable and appropriately certified or experienced.
*Perform front desk and administrative duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, supporting patient flow, helping with forms, and serving as a liaison with other departments.
*Contribute to quality and safety initiatives, including proper patient identification, hand hygiene, privacy, and confidentiality practices.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
  • Direct Medical Assistant experience or medical field work experience of 1-2 years required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered and service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, privacy requirements, and electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to take vital signs, obtain manual blood pressure, and collect blood samples and other specimens as appropriate.
