SUMMARY

The Warehouse Operations Manager is an in-person role based in Louisville, KY responsible for leading efficient, safe, and accurate warehouse and distribution operations. This role supports inventory flow, supply chain performance, and reliable service while partnering with warehouse staff, Purchasing, Operations, vendors, and logistics partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff. Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.


  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.


  • Optimize warehouse layout to improve flow and optimize storage capacity.


  • Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.


  • Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse and distribution network.


  • Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with company leadership.


  • Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives.


  • Streamline receiving, picking, packing, and shipping processes to maximize efficiency and reduce operational costs.


  • Oversee physical inventories, manage cycle counts, and ensure strict accuracy using our ERP.


  • Enforce safety regulations, maintain facility equipment, and ensure a secure working environment for all employees.


  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators such as labor costs, order accuracy, on time in full (OTIF), dock to stock time, inventory shrinkage and drive continuous improvement.


  • Coordinate with freight carriers to negotiate rates, resolve delivery disputes, and ensure timely inbound/outbound logistics.


  • Generate weekly and monthly operational reports for company leadership, translating floor metrics into financial and strategic insights.


  • Other duties may be assigned as business needs require

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or related operations, required





  • 2+ years of experience leading or supervising warehouse employees, required





  • Experience with inventory management, receiving, shipping, and order fulfillment processes, required





  • Experience using an ERP, warehouse management system (WMS), or similar inventory system, required





  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, required





  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field, preferred





  • Experience managing warehouse operations in a multi-location or distribution environment, preferred





  • Experience implementing process improvements, automation, or warehouse optimization initiatives, preferred



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES



  • Strong knowledge of warehouse, inventory, distribution, and logistics operations.





  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.





  • Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and applicable workplace safety requirements.





  • Ability to manage inventory controls, cycle counts, and physical inventories with a high degree of accuracy.





  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.





  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.





  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency.



WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • This position primarily works in a warehouse and distribution environment with regular exposure to moving equipment, varying temperatures, noise, and other conditions typical of warehouse operations.





  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.





  • Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Successful completion of a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) is required as a condition of employment.





  • May require occasional work outside of normal business hours based on operational needs.
