The Senior Applications Engineer for Prime Power RTL 2.0 supports customer and internal RTL power analysis activities under general supervision. This role executes established PPRTL flows, assists with evaluations and support cases, and develops foundational expertise in RTL power estimation, clock gating efficiency (CGE), and Synopsys low-power design tooling. Working from playbooks, the Senior AE prepares collateral, runs logical power flows, and escalates complex issues to senior team members. Level Profile * Supervision & Scope: General supervision; delivers defined components of evaluations and support projects. * Impact: Day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on team results. * Experience: BS + 2 years related experience, or MS with no prior professional experience. Key Responsibilities * Support evaluations by executing PPRTL logical flows (libs, RTL, SDC/FSDB, synthesis, compute_power, CGE reporting) and preparing collateral from established templates. * Assist customers with routine flow setup, installation, and licensing questions; document results and issues for team review. * Perform basic RTL power lint and summarize findings; contribute testcase notes, FAQ entries, and internal knowledge-base updates. * Diagnose routine issues and escalate complex problems; reproduce defects and collaborate with sales, support, and senior AEs on assigned accounts. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 2 years in semiconductor EDA, IC design, or applications/support; or Master's degree with no prior experience. * Basic understanding of RTL power: switching, internal, and leakage power; clock gating fundamentals. * Familiarity with Linux and Tcl scripting; strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications * Exposure to VCS/Verdi, low-power VLSI coursework, and basic SDC/UPF familiarity
