The Division of Sidewalk & Inspection Management (SIM) is responsible for maintaining the city's 12,760 miles of sidewalks and approximately 162,000 pedestrian ramps. SIM is tasked with sustaining a comprehensive inspection, pedestrian ramp and sidewalk program that ensures accessibility of pedestrian ramps, streets, and sidewalks.

The Citywide Concrete Program inspects curb and sidewalk complaints from the public, identifying damaged or missing sidewalk & curbs that are pedestrian & vehicular hazards and can cause severe flooding. Citywide Concrete Unit (CWC) supports the agency s goal to enhance, rehabilitate, and maintain the City s infrastructure by acting as the agency s primary construction unit. We employ dedicated engineers, managers, support staff, laborers and adopt cost-savings and efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and service to safety and quality.

Under supervision of the Grant Coordinator, the selected candidate will provide clerical and administrative support to ensure the accurate and efficient processing, maintenance, and reporting of departmental records and project related information. The position requires strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and the ability to organize and manage information from multiple sources. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and office-related duties in support of daily departmental operations. Process, record, verify, organize, and maintain various administrative, operational, and project related records. Enter and maintain project related financial information, including Personal Services (PS) and Other Than Personal Services (OTPS) costs, based on applicable source documentation. Data entry into in-house COM database related to CHIPS, complete MURKS for Federal Grants, and IFA projects with regards to PS & OTPS costs, and conduct costings for Vouchers based on gang sheets, community complaints & subsequent surveys done daily. Process and track requests related to pours, excavation, safety, saw cutting, and asphalt work. Handle and follow up on 311 service complaints.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Skills Requirement
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.


Preferred Skills

Preference will be given to candidate with prior data entry experience and advanced Excel skills

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
