About the RoleThe Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL) is seeking a student assistant to provide clerical and administrative assistance to the EOL Director's office. This part-time employee will interact with a wide variety of staff while supporting all of the administrative functions of the EOL Directorate as requested.

What You Will Do

Here is a brief summary of what one would expect to be generally responsible for in this role.

Key Responsibilities
General office support including record-keeping, photocopying, archiving, scheduling appointments and meeting rooms, preparing administrative forms and documents, arranging and reconciling official travel, sorting and distributing mail, and providing support of all of the administrative functions of the EOL Directorate as requested.

Education & Experience REQUIRED:

  • Currently enrolled in college, university or professional school.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities REQUIRED:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) in a networked environment.

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of personnel.

  • Ability to multitask, switch priorities, be flexible, and collaborate with colleagues.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work 10-15 hours per week on a set schedule and more during school breaks.

  • Discretion in handling confidential information.

  • Willingness to ask questions and seek clarification.

  • Ability to follow moderately complex procedures/practices.


Preferred Qualifications

Hiring Hourly Rate: $23.81 per hour
