Position Summary

The Raw Material Specialist plays a critical role in ATI's supply chain operations by managing offsite inventory, aligning purchasing activities with demand planning, and ensuring seamless coordination with vendors and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. This role is essential to maintaining material availability, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting production and customer fulfillment needs.

Key Responsibilities



  • Inventory Management


    • Manage and monitor offsite inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing excess stock.
    • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of offsite inventory against system records.
    • Track material movements and maintain accurate documentation in ERP systems.


  • Demand Planning & Purchasing Alignment


    • Partner with the Demand Planning team to align material procurement with forecasted demand.
    • Issue purchase requisitions in accordance with demand plans, safety stock and lead times.
    • Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to standards.


  • Vendor & 3PL Coordination


    • Serve as the primary liaison between ATI and offsite vendors/3PL providers to coordinate shipments, storage, and handling of materials.
    • Resolve issues related to delivery delays, discrepancies, or damages.


  • Process Improvement & Reporting


    • Develop and implement best practices for material flow, vendor communication, and logistics coordination.
    • Provide regular reporting on inventory levels, vendor performance, and material availability.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase supply chain efficiency, reduce costs and ensure vendor/customer contractual compliance.



Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, logistics, or a related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in materials coordination, production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using an ERP, MRP, inventory, or production-management system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to interpret production schedules, material requirements, inventory records, purchase orders, and related documentation.
  • Ability to identify material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and scheduling concerns and coordinate their resolution.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across Operations, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Warehousing, and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently within established processes and guidelines.

Our Total Rewards program and options available to an employee & may vary depending on multiple factors, including location and hire date. Hourly pay rates are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $127,900 /annually
