The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Operations & Maintenance Inspector with an active Secret Clearance. Key Responsibilities: * Perform comprehensive visual and physical inspections of all building systems, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and site features.
* Use standardized inspection checklists and digital data collection tools to document deficiencies, code violations, deferred maintenance, and safety hazards.
* Conduct functional testing of critical systems where feasible and safe.
* Assess system performance, reliability, and code compliance.
* Estimate remaining useful life (RUL) of major components.
* Prepare inspection reports with inventory and condition ratings, deficiency lists (with photos and locations), cost estimates, and recommended actions.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes and standards (ADA, fire/life safety, environmental).
* Identify security vulnerabilities relevant to DHS operations.
* Provide data in formats compatible with DHS facility management systems (e.g., Excel, PDF, or CMMS integration).
* Implement QA/QC processes for all inspection and reporting activities. Experience/Skills: * Active Secret Clearance
* Minimum 7 years of experience in building inspection, facility assessment, or related technical roles.
* Proficiency in facility condition assessment methodologies and tools.
* Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
* Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes and standards.
* Effective communication skills for reporting and presenting findings.
* Experience with digital inspection tools and facility management systems.
Education Requirements:
* Associate's degree in Construction Management, Building Sciences, or related field required.
* Relevant certifications such as Certified Building Inspector (CBI), International Code Council (ICC) certification, or equivalent preferred. *Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications. *Our positions may require a background screening and clearance directly from the Government. *Please note that telework arrangements are subject to change based on customer requirements.
