The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Operations Research Specialist with an active Secret Clearance. Key Responsibilities: * Apply advanced analytical and quantitative methods to support decision-making for facility operations, resource allocation, and process optimization.
* Develop mathematical models, simulations, and forecasting tools to analyze operational scenarios and recommend solutions.
* Collect, validate, and interpret large datasets related to facility performance, maintenance, energy usage, and space utilization.
* Conduct cost-benefit, risk, and lifecycle analyses to inform project planning and investment decisions.
* Support the development of performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboards for monitoring campus operations.
* Prepare technical reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
* Collaborate with engineers, planners, management analysts, and other team members to integrate research findings into strategic planning and operational improvements.
* Advise DHS leadership on the implications of analytical results for policy, planning, and resource
Experience/Skills:
* Active Secret Clearance
* Minimum 7 years of experience in operations research, data analysis, or quantitative modeling, preferably in a federal or large-scale facilities environment.
* Proficiency in mathematical modeling, simulation, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python, SAS).
* Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
* Experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
* Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Knowledge of federal facility operations, project management, and performance measurement is preferred.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field required. *Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications. *Our positions may require a background screening and clearance directly from the Government. *Please note that telework arrangements are subject to change based on customer requirements.
