The Clinical Trials Infusion (CTI) RN Liaison serves as the primary liaison between clinical research and infusion operations, providing oversight for treatment plan review, staff education, study activation, operational readiness, and communication between the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) and infusion teams across MCC, MOP, ECC, and KOP Infusion Services. The CTI RN Liaison works in conjunction with IDS Pharmacy, Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs), physicians, nursing leadership, and infusion staff to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of clinical trial therapies. This role is critical to standardized workflows, appropriate staffing and resource planning, and the successful implementation of new clinical trials, supporting continued growth in clinical trial accruals and treatment volume. Responsibilities Reviews the daily list of CTI patients and ensures adequate time is allotted to complete long infusions. Reviews CTI charts, consistent with the liaison role. Reviews CTI treatment plans against the study protocol prior to the physician signing orders. Reviews protocols with Principal Investigators (PIs) prior to trial initiation. Streamlines source documents. Provides new trial education for CTI RNs. Reviews Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) and IReports in real time and discusses findings with the treatment team. Serves as a resource to Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) to help ensure protocol compliance. While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A Diploma or Associate degree with two (2) years of clinical experience; or a Baccalaureate degree with one (1) year of clinical experience; or a Master's degree with six (6) months of clinical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California. BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date. Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in oncology and/or infusion nursing. Working knowledge of clinical trial/research processes, including treatment plan review against study protocols. Current ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy provider card, or must obtain within six (6) months of hire. Demonstrated ability to educate and serve as a resource to nursing staff and Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs). Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly identify issues and apply effective solutions. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly across research and clinical teams. Knowledge of business software, specialized applications, and data management systems used in nursing units or departments. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related area. ACLS and/or UCSD ART certification. OCN certification. Five (5) or more years of relevant oncology and/or infusion nursing experience. Prior experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator, RN Liaison, or clinical trials/research nurse. Experience working directly with Principal Investigators (PIs) and Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs). SPECIAL CONDITIONS This position supports clinical trial infusion operations across MCC, MOP, ECC, and KOP Infusion Services and may require travel between sites based on business needs. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $146,578 - $205,167 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $70.20 - $98.26 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
