| Essential Job Duties |
The Associate Director of Creative Video actively produces and coordinates creative video initiatives while providing day-to-day creative leadership for NC State Athletics. Remaining a hands-on creative contributor, this position operates at a senior individual-contributor level within the
SHRA structure, emphasizing advanced technical execution, daily leadership, and operational coordination rather than formal managerial authority over permanent staff.
This role reports to and works closely with the Assistant AD for Video Services within Pack Productions to translate departmental direction into daily production outcomes. The Associate Director produces high-quality video content, coordinates recruiting deliverables across assigned sport programs, and oversees student interns through instruction, mentorship, scheduling, and performance feedback while maintaining compliance with
NCAA,
ACC, and institutional standards. This role also requires capability to carry heavy equipment up to 25-30lbs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Active Creative Leadership & Execution
- Serve as a senior creative contributor, setting day-to-day creative standards and production expectations.
- Translate departmental creative direction into actionable daily production plans and priorities.
- Provide hands-on creative guidance, instruction, and real-time feedback to student interns.
- Review projects to ensure alignment with brand standards and quality benchmarks.
Student Intern Development & Oversight
- Oversee the Creative Video student intern program including recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and supervision.
- Develop structured training plans and assign projects.
- Provide feedback and support professional growth.
Recruiting Content Coordination
- Lead planning and execution of recruiting-focused video content across all NC State Athletics sports.
- Serve as a liaison with coaching staffs to identify recruiting needs and timelines.
- Ensure recruiting content aligns with NCAA, ACC, and institutional guidelines.
Content Production & Execution
- Produce, shoot, edit, and deliver social, recruiting, and feature video content.
- Create content for video boards, live events, and broadcast platforms.
- Stay current with emerging trends to inform execution.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with Athletics Communications, Marketing, Recruiting, and external broadcast partners.
- Communicate effectively with coaches, student-athletes, administrators, and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted creative resource and mentor within Pack Productions.
Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day functional oversight of student interns and student workers; does not supervise permanent employees.
- Direct daily work assignments, schedules, and project priorities for interns in support of departmental goals.
- Train interns on equipment, software, workflows, and professional expectations.
- Contribute to intern recruiting, selection, and evaluation in collaboration with department leadership.

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience related to the area of assignment in a Broadcast Television, Radio and Emergingmedia Environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Demonstrated interest and competence in visual storytelling, with a passion for college athletics
- Proficiency with Sony equipment and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with social media trends and analytics
- Collaborative and detail-oriented, with the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team
- Capacity to manage student interns and to develop their creative video skills
