DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role supports technical monitoring and inspection tasks within the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). As a ITS Technician, you will perform the following duties:

  • Device Monitoring: Verify daily online status of ITS devices and document issue resolution
  • Report Support: Assist supervisor in preparing performance reports for ITS devices
  • Data Collection: Obtain crowd-sourced information on speed and travel time, as well as provide reports
  • Site Investigation: Conduct initial reviews of proposed ITS device locations
  • Inspection Assistance: Support ITS inspections for construction and maintenance to ensure compliance
  • Network Updates: Maintain and update diagrams and databases related to District fiber systems

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on an ad-hoc basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
