Printpack's Medical Division is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Product Development Engineer I or Product Development Engineer II (depending on experience). This position could be located in Atlanta, GA, Marshall, NC, or Tijuana, Mexico, and will report to the Product Development Manager. Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate directly with customers, suppliers, and cross-functionally with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and operations planning for timely, successful commercialization of new blown film, converted products, and product improvements
  • Design and validate specifications to be fit-for-use and fit-for-make. Data gathering and analysis are imperative for success
  • Lead customer technical calls/visits and manufacturing/customer trials to ensure communication and expedite commercialization
  • Serve as primary technical contact for assigned customers
  • Support manufacturing technical needs for existing specifications and provide onsite support of trials
  • Be a resource for material/process related root cause investigations
  • Lead divisional initiatives on new converting and raw material technology. Identify opportunities for innovative growth, disseminating such information appropriately within the Printpack technical community.
  • Have a bias for internal and external customer service
  • Embrace and support an innovative, collaborative environment

Qualifications / Experience:
  • Product development or flexible converting experience preferred
  • Experience considered: engineering or manufacturing experience, flexible packaging (printing/laminating/bag-pouch making/etc.), or a related industry in the capacity of process engineer, and/or process engineering, quality
  • Experience with continuous improvement, driving cost savings, process improvements, and raw material sourcing initiatives
  • Evidence of experience in both innovation and onboarding execution
  • Evidence of relationship building with customers and internal/external stakeholders
  • Evidence of presentation skills and business awareness
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams with business results
