Position Summary

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and employee performance standards are met. This role serves as the first point of contact for production team members and provides leadership, training, and support to achieve operational goals while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Job Duties



  • Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and material availability to ensure continuous operations.
  • Communicate production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations to team members.
  • Train, coach, and develop production associates on work instructions, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Conduct shift start-up meetings and provide updates on production priorities and performance metrics.
  • Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance; provide feedback as needed.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with maintenance, quality, and management teams to minimize downtime.
  • Complete production reports, shift documentation, and performance tracking records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with disciplinary actions and employee recognition programs as directed by management



Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED preferred unless otherwise specified.
  • Additional education, certifications, or vocational training may be beneficial depending on the position.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, professionalism, and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to learn new processes, procedures, equipment, or software as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to motivate employees and drive performance.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience in a related industry or similar position is preferred.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, customer-focused, manufacturing, warehouse, administrative, or professional environments is beneficial depending on the assignment.
  • Relevant certifications, technical training, or specialized skills are considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn are well positioned for success as a Production Lead.
  • Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred.



Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Physical requirements vary by assignment and will be discussed during the hiring process.
  • Candidates should be able to safely perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to work in varying manufacturing environments, including exposure to noise and temperature fluctuations.
