Job Description

SUMMARY

The Center to Advance Community Health & Equity (CACHE) is housed at the Public Health Institute (PHI) and has expertise to help nonprofit hospitals, health systems, and other stakeholders translate data into better community investments. CACHE helps users interpret data from Community Benefit Insight, and couple it with existing tools and resources for strategic community benefit implementation.

Position Summary

The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavioral science expertise to advance evidence-informed, person-centered services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), behavioral health needs, and other populations requiring behavioral support. The BCBA applies behavioral assessment and intervention strategies while contributing to community-based practice, workforce development, quality improvement, and practice innovation. This position reports to the Division Director IV.

This may be a regular, full- or part-time position. The starting FTE will be determined upon hire, depending on funding availability. This is a remote position that requires travel within and possibly outside of California based on project needs.

The full salary range for this position: $71,843 to $104,153 per year. The typical hiring range for this position is from $71,843 (minimum) to $87,998 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined using a variety of factors, such as the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity considerations and budget availability.

This position is contingent upon funding being awarded to PHI.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavior support plans.
  • Apply evidence-informed, positive, and least-restrictive approaches that promote independence, communication, safety, self-determination, and quality of life.
  • Collaborate with individuals, families, caregivers, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to integrate behavioral strategies into health and human services.
  • Contribute behavioral expertise to the design and implementation of community-based behavioral health care models that are inclusive and address the needs of intellectual and developmentally disabled populations.
  • Develop and deliver training, consultation, and technical assistance for providers, caregivers, community health workers, direct support professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary workforce.
  • Develop practical behavioral tools, protocols, curricula, and resources to strengthen service delivery and workforce capacity.
  • Use behavioral data and outcome measures to inform clinical practice, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Contribute to applied research, implementation science, and the translation of behavioral science into practice and scalable models.
  • Support initiatives addressing health equity, community inclusion, and improved access to behavioral and supportive services.
  • Contribute to proposals, reports, presentations, publications, and stakeholder initiatives related to behavioral health and community practice.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards consistent with BCBA requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's degree, or substitute with four additional years of relevant experience.

  • Current status as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Other Qualifications

  • Experience conducting behavioral assessments and developing behavioral interventions.
  • Experience working with individuals with IDD, behavioral health needs, or related populations.
  • Knowledge of positive behavior supports, behavioral measurement, and data-informed practice.
  • Strong communication, consultation, analytical, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • Experience in community-based behavioral health, IDD, public health, or population health.
  • Experience translating behavioral science into practice, policy, or system-level improvement.
  • Experience with developing and delivering training, consultation, and technical assistance.
  • Ability to translate complex behavioral concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-specialist audiences.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience drafting reports, curricula, protocols, presentations, and proposal content.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and virtual collaboration platforms; familiarity with tools for behavioral data collection, analysis, and visualization.
  • Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, Behavioral Health, or a related field preferred.
