Job Overview

Environmental Health and Safety is looking for student associates to conduct monthly eyewash inspections and fume hood measurements for UC East, West, and Branch Campuses. Other miscellaneous duties will be determined as needed. Training will be provided before the position starts and all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Work hours are flexible around your class schedule between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays. We can offer 18 to 20 hours weekly and up to 30 hours during summer and holiday breaks.

Minimum Requirements
  • Due to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) many of our lab rooms on campus require the entrant to be a US citizen. All student applicants must be US citizens. A "U.S. Person" as defined by ITAR is (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or other protected individual under 8 U.S.C. *1324b(a)(3))?
  • A valid driver's license is also required to drive University vehicles to applicable campuses.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school.
    • Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
    • "Enrollment" shall include:
      • The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
      • The one "off" term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
