Situated within the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering ( CCEE) at North Carolina State University ( NCSU), this work advances innovation across civil, construction, and environmental engineering, with an emphasis on solid waste and materials management and lifecycle assessment.
We invite applications from scholars with strong domain expertise in solid waste engineering while also grounded in underlying fundamental aspects, which could include environmental chemistry, microbiology, geoenvironmental engineering, and/or systems analysis, and who have integrated AI into their research. We look for researchers who will develop programs with impacts on the design, planning, and operations of solid waste management systems of the future, the sustainability of resource management, and the resilience and safety of communities.
The experience you will bring will contribute to one or more of the following areas of solid waste management:

  • Municipal solid waste management/treatment
