Assistant Professor, Academic Track or Clinician Track

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Critical and Acute Care Division within the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota is seeking a qualified individual for an academic track or clinician track position as Assistant Professor. Track will be determined based on the qualifications and experiences of the selected candidate.

Caseload will include trauma, surgical critical care, and general surgery cases. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills in general surgery and critical care with responsibilities to include:

* Participating as the attending staff in one or more of the intensive care units associated with the Division
* Participation as a Surgeon or Intensivist at one of our partner facilities
* Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows
* Full participation in departmental activities including but not limited to grand rounds, CEU quality meetings, Promotion and Tenure committee meetings, and faculty meetings

Qualifications

Requirements:

* MD degree or equivalent
* Must have or be able to obtain board certification in Surgery and Critical Care
* Must have or be able to obtain a Medical License in the state of Minnesota
* Demonstrated commitment to providing quality and compassionate patient care
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegiality with staff and partners
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research
