University Hospital: CT Scan (Full-time, Night Shift, 4/10s) - may be eligible for a sign-on bonus Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Under general supervision, the position is responsible for conducting three-dimensional (3-D) post-processing, triaging patients, exams, and performing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) for adult patients. In addition, the position can perform more technical exams and provide support and guidance to the lower-level classification(s). The position works with clinical students as needed, follows HIPAA and corporate compliance guidelines, and is capable of producing the work of the lower-level classification. The CT Technologist 2 is the journey-level classification in the CT Technologist classification series. Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of CT Radiology procedures, CT Scanners, post-processing, TAVR CTA for adult patients, radiation safety and universal precautions, and general office software and equipment. Skill to apply knowledge of different CT Scanner models and radiology procedures to produce advanced CT scans of Cardiac areas. Skill to produce CTA and CT scans related to stroke and trauma; answers advanced questions about the use and operation of equipment. Skill to produce Cardiac, Coronary, and TAVR CTA for adult patients. Skill in producing 3-D post-processing of areas such as the aorta, carotids, and head. Skill to ensure all procedures adhere to radiation safety and universal protections. Skill in using general office software and equipment to develop reports, aggregate data, and communicate with staff and patients. Ability to effectively use CT scanners from different vendors, produce high-quality images, troubleshoot CT scanners and conduct the most advanced CT examinations. Ability to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use a computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Microsoft Office, Outlook, electronic event reporting program, established organization electronic medical record; comprehend and follow-through with instructions. Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies; lead, supervise, teach, and accept direction; think critically and use good judgment; problem solve and collaborate with licensed care providers as necessary. Ability to work in a challenging clinical environment; demonstrate self-motivation; work independently with minimal supervision; communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; perform basic math and statistical functions; compose written material; multitask and manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
