About the Department
The Department of Cultural and Behavioral Sciences is home to multiple academic and applied disciplines including psychology, sociology, anthropology, geography, education, social work, criminal justice, and homeland security. Position Description
Perimeter College is seeking part-time instructors in SOCIOLOGY who will play a key role in educating and supporting students.
Required Experience
College-level teaching experience is required.
Required Education
Applicants MUST have a minimum of a Master's Degree, with at least 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in SOCIOLOGY.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Ability to teach Sociology at the collegiate level.

* Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods, relate to students and facilitate student learning.

* Effective communication skills needed.

* Excellent organizational and teaching skills.

Job Duties


Description of Job Duty
* Teach 1 to 2 sections of Intro to Sociology or Intro to Social Problems per term, as needed. Courses will mostly be on one of our five physical campuses, though online classes are possible following our institution's certification process.
* Create syllabi, assignments and tests, class activities, lectures, etc.
* Communicate with students outside class via email, phone, and in-person or virtual office hours.
* Use online learning management system to post syllabus, grades, and other information students need.
* Do required record-keeping in a timely fashion, e.g. roll verification, progress report grades, final grades.
* Communicate with department Chair and staff about teaching schedule, any student issues, and other matters as needed.
