Job Overview
The Sleep & EEG Supervisor is responsible for managing a department by implementing and maintaining specific policies, procedures, and guidelines; leading team members in providing direct patient care by demonstrating expert clinical knowledge; ensuring compliance with quality and safety initiatives and practices; and partnering with a multidisciplinary team in meeting the clinical needs of patients and families. The Sleep & EEG Supervisor also provides leadership and management to department team members and assumes responsibility for staffing levels, materials management and space utilization to meet the patient care, training and fiscal needs of the division. Finally, the Sleep & EEG Supervisor serves as the primary clinical liaison with families and referring providers, facilitating exemplary customer service/responsiveness, assisting with complex clinical triage/new referral scheduling and other customer service needs.

Qualifications
- EDUCATION - Associates degree in a relevant field and/or graduate of a CAAHEP Accredited Program.
- EXPERIENCE - Five years of clinical experience in a pediatric setting.
- EQUIVALENCY - In lieu of a Associates degree, one year of professional experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education.
- CERTIFICATION(S) -BLS/CPR, and/or PALS certifications as required by credential.
- LICENSURE - Colorado Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and/or Registered Polysomnography Tech (RPSGT) and/or Registered EEG Tech (REEGT) + 1 (CLTM/ REPT/CNIM)

- Manages the implementation and maintenance of department specific policies, procedures, and guidelines while ensuring consistency with evidence-based practice and organizational policies, standards, and procedures.
- Leads department team members in providing direct patient care by demonstrating expert clinical knowledge and promoting the application of the clinical best practices and professional standards in daily work.
- Interprets and explains regulatory standards and hospital policies, procedures, and rules to employees and ensures compliance with applicable quality and safety initiatives and practices.
- Ensures staffing resources are utilized appropriately and shifts resources to meet both patient and unit needs.
- Partners with a multidisciplinary team in meeting the clinical needs of patients and families. Rounds with patients, families and team members to promote patient family experience and quality patient care.
- Resolves operational and patient/family issues, making decisions that are inclusive of multiple perspectives and solves underlying problems.
- Serves as the primary clinical liaison with families and referring providers, assisting with triaging and scheduling of new patient referrals, complex customer service issues and providing expert clinical consultation as needed to meet the needs of the community.
- Assists team members in achieving unit outcomes, performance and professional development standards; identifies opportunities for continual improvement.
- Champions clinical practice and professional growth by working with leadership to meet the educational needs of the department and by monitoring and participating in the assessment of basic clinical competencies. Develops, coaches, and evaluates team members. Mentors team members in creating/evaluating projects focused on improving clinical practice.
- Provides leadership on decisions involving hiring, terminations, promotions, and disciplinary actions as required.
- Monitors expenditures for unit/department and participates in the development of budget recommendations.
- Provides input into financial management activities including operational budgetary decisions and cost-containment. As well as, takes ownership in the financial success of the hospital with appropriate resource utilization and management.

- Guidelines: Guidelines are in the form of stated objectives for the section, unit, function, or project. Is normally the first level of full supervision in a classification series. Performs most elements of supervision over 50% of the time. May also perform the work of front line staff as needed.
- Complexity: Work assignment is generally unstructured and employee is responsible for assigning and supervising a variety of functions to achieve the objectives of the section, unit, or project. Duties performed involve weighing and evaluating factors requiring judgment, analytical ability, and problem solving.
- Decision Making: Employee is responsible for simultaneous coordination and supervision of several functions, programs, or projects in various stages of completion. Primary responsibility for arranging and directing the work of two or more employees.
- Communications: Contacts are of a non-prescribed nature involving the negotiation and resolution of problems and where exceptional degrees of discretion, judgment, and specialized knowledge are required in carrying out the programs and policies of an organization.
- Supervision Received: Under managerial direction, the employee has personal accountability for carrying out the work objectives of an organizational unit or section within the scope of established guidelines and the mission of the agency or department. Work may be discussed with higher level supervisors and reviewed for soundness of judgment and feasibility of decisions.

Salary Information Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $68,066.41 to $102,099.61 Hourly Salary Range: $32.72 to $49.09
