Full time opening for an Engineer II - Shift: Days Monday through Friday

River Park Hospital, a 165-bed facility and a leader in behavioral health care, located in Huntington, WV has an opening for an Engineer II in our Plant Operations department. River Park provides acute inpatient services to children, adolescents, adults and seniors and features a 22-bed residential treatment program for children and adolescents and a 25-bed adult forensic unit. The Engineer II performs a variety of tasks including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting. The Engineer II tests and inspects the physical plant equipment, completes preventive maintenance and various other duties as assigned with minimal supervision. Serve as on call maintenance providing evening, weekends and holiday emergency service and all other duties as assigned by the Director of Plant Operations and/or CEO.


Qualifications

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Assists in the implementation of a planned maintenance program on all facility equipment by performing preventative maintenance tasks, maintaining required documentation, and assisting with bio-medication scheduling and repairing breakdowns.
  • Performs and documents preventative maintenance on all major equipment.
  • Inspects and maintains documentation of sprinkler valves, fire doors, fire alarms and smoke detectors.
  • Operates all equipment and performs all maintenance functions in a safe manner.
  • Prepares and paint equipment, walls, etc.
  • Promotes a positive working environment and guest relations.
  • Assumes and/or performs additional duties as requested.
  • Promotes safety by attending mandatory in-services and complies with all safety measures initiated by the facility

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED required
  • A two year technical or trade school/technical coursework or Associate's degree preferred
  • Current license in plumbing, (Master or Journeyman preferred); or, electrical work (or certificates certifying acceptable knowledge or experience); or, a license in HVAC (any class with Universal preferred) or a minimum of 10 years' experience
  • Prefer a minimum of three years' work experience in hospital and/or healthcare facility
  • Prefer a knowledge of JCAHO, federal, state and local laws concerning facility operations.
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software
  • Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions
  • Previous electrical experience is preferred
  • Must have strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and complete routine maintenance with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety and building automation
  • Ability to understand and interpret manufacturer's specifications and written operational procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work a 40 hour work week.
  • Ability to move continuously is required in completion of job requirements.
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, run, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push, pull and twist.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds may be required without assistance.
  • Ability to work under any weather conditions, inside or out, without regard for temperatures any time of the day or night.
