Nature of Work: The Department of Pathology practice and CHCO are seeking a full-time academic physician at the Associate to Full Professor rank, to lead the Donor Service and Transfusion Medicine Programs. Candidates must have an MD or DO degree, with board certification from the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology and completed a fellowship with board certification in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. In addition, candidates must have at least five years of experience as an attending pathologist in an active, academic hospital system with a focus in blood banking and transfusion medicine AND they must have at least three years of experience in Pediatric Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine at a nationally accredited Children's Hospital. The Candidate will assume major clinical and leadership responsibilities and lead the Donor Services and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine Program. Active participation in the training of medical students, pathology residents, pediatric fellows, and faculty participation in our ACGME/GME accredited Pediatric Pathology and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship programs are expected. Candidates with a track record of academic and research productivity, as well as leadership experience will be favored The candidate must be eligible for a Colorado State medical license. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Associate Professor: Candidates must have an MD or DO degree and be board certified in Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. At least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor in an Academic Pathology Department. The candidate must be eligible for a full unrestricted Colorado State medical license and medical credentialing by the Children's Hospital of Colorado and CU Medicine. Professor: Candidates must have an MD or DO degree and be board certified in Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. The candidate must have at least six years at the rank of Associate Professor in an Academic Pathology Department, demonstrate longstanding track record of productivity and success in clinical practice, teaching/education, and scholarship to be considered for Professor, regular (tenure eligible) track position. Candidates must be eligible for a full unrestricted Colorado State medical license and medical credentialing by the Children's Hospital of Colorado and CU Medicine. Preferred Qualifications Associate Professor: Five years or more of experience in academic transfusion medicine, three years of experience practicing a Children's Hospital with pediatric and maternal/fetal medicine practices as well as major trauma practice. Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Associate Professor - $250,000 to $300,000 Professor - $300,000-$350,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
