The Division of Rheumatology at the University of Colorado seeks a Clinical Community Practice Director to lead the clinical outreach activities of the Rheumatology Division Anschutz Medical Center. This position would involve a 0.10 FTE for collaborating with DOM Community Practice efforts. Additionally, this position would develop and participate in seeing patients in outpatient clinics with community partners. This Director of Community Practice role would work closely with and report to Associate Division Head for Clinical Affairs, a role that reports to the Division Head for Rheumatology.

Key Responsibilities:

As Clinical Community Practice Director:



  • Represent the division's interests and participate in DOM lead community practice expansion and initiatives.
  • Act on behalf of the division to advance our clinical mission. Identify and implement processes to improve patient access by expanding community practice for the division as well as through ongoing usage of virtual care for care management of rural and underserved populations.


As Assistant Professor in the division:



  • Provide a range of general rheumatology care (outpatient clinic and inpatient consultation services), collaboration with a rheumatology APP, interaction with medical trainees inclusive of rheumatology fellows, and support of primary care and other subspecialties.
  • Participation in teaching activities such as leading formal/informal teaching sessions.
  • Participation in academic activities such as attendance at rheumatology conferences with the Anschutz Medical Campus or other scholarly activities.
  • Interactions with faculty at the Anschutz Campus and clinical research collaborations are highly encouraged. The clinician will have opportunity for academic promotion judged on criteria of demonstrated excellence as a clinician, educator and scholar.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Assistant Professor:



  • MD or DO. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology. Current State of Colorado Medical License and DEA by the employment start date. 2+ years' experience as an MD or DO


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records and Epic
  • Prior experience and academic interest in improved patient access to rural and underserved patient populations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $180,000 to $205,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
