Qualifications
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited nuclear medicine program.

Responsibilities
- Performs routine diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures independently while demonstrating proper imaging protocols and techniques for optimal image quality and patient safety. Recognizes normal anatomy and common pathological conditions while adapting procedures to patient needs.
- Facilitates efficient patient flow by coordinating multiple routine procedures and managing STAT/urgent cases according to department protocols. Demonstrates effective prioritization and time management skills while maintaining quality standards.
- Operates nuclear medicine imaging equipment including PET/CT according to established protocols while maintaining radiation safety practices. Performs routine quality control procedures and documents results according to department standards.
- Provides clear and detailed procedure information to patients and families while ensuring proper preparation and post-procedure care instructions are understood. Documents all patient education and care instructions in the medical record.
- Demonstrates competency in IV placement, contrast administration, and management of vascular access devices while following department protocols. Monitors patients for adverse reactions and responds appropriately to emergency situations.
- Handles and administers radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining accurate documentation. Implements ALARA principles and radiation safety practices in daily operations.
- Maintains proficiency in all aspects of RIS, EMR, and PACS systems as they relate to nuclear medicine procedures and documentation. Ensures accurate and complete documentation of all procedures and patient care activities.
- Assists providers with routine procedures while maintaining proper sterile technique and standard precautions. Documents appropriate information and follows established procedural guidelines for all examinations.
- Participates in department quality control activities by following established protocols and reporting any deviations or equipment malfunctions. Maintains compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Performs patient assessment including review of medical history, verification of ordered procedures, and screening for contraindications. Recognizes situations requiring additional consultation or modified protocols.
- Maintains required competencies through participation in continuing education activities and completion of annual safety training requirements. Demonstrates understanding of current nuclear medicine practices and procedures.
- Follows department workflow processes while maintaining flexibility in scheduling, location assignments, and call requirements to meet organizational needs. Coordinates effectively with team members to ensure continuous patient care coverage.

Hourly Range: $41.08 to $57.52
