Job Overview

Inspects and repairs sophisticated medical equipment for compliance to documented safety and performance

standards. Manages, mentors and trains other team members on Biomedical devices.

Department Name: Clinical Engineering
Job Status: Full time, 40 hours per week.
Shift: Day, Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm. Covering holiday or weekends occasionally.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - High School diploma or equivalent.
  • EXPERIENCE - Seven (7) years of direct patient care equipment maintenance and safety requiring knowledge of sophisticated medical equipment.
  • EQUIVALENCY - A relevant degree may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis.
Responsibilities

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE
No Direct Patient Care

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.Leads installation and implementation and assist care givers or clients with biomedical devices. Inspects and tests malfunctioning medical or related equipment.
2.Cross trains to support production and device understanding. Researches and recommends new technologies to improve quality and efficiency. Disseminates information to clients, management, and staff.
3.Identifies efficiencies and deficiencies of existing Biomedical device systems and take steps to improve the user experience.
4.Conducts short-and long-term planning to meet current and future collaborative requirements. Participates in annual roadmap planning.
5.Tests or calibrates components or equipment, following manufacturers' manuals and troubleshooting techniques, using hand tools, power tools, or measuring devices.
6.Assists with accurate coordination of clinical educational tools. Helps training clinical staff on medical devices as needed
7.Develop best practices related to workflows for collaborative-related processes.
8.Act as the initial point of contact for vendors in relation to medical device implementation or refresh related projects or devices.
9.Maintain expert level knowledge on current industry standards, trends, and developments as they relate to CHCO's existing Biomedical devices.
10.Serve as back up for Biomedical operational leadership. Contribute to determine priority initiatives and department goals

SCOPE AND LEVEL

GUIDELINES: Fully qualified, full performance or journey level. DECISION MAKING: Exercises judgment and discretion, and is responsible for determining the time, place and sequence of the work performed.

COMMUNICATIONS: Contacts with the patients, families, or employees where explanatory or interpretive information is exchanged, defended, and gathered and discretion and judgment are required within the parameters of the job function.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Performs work with minimal supervisory oversight. Under general supervision, the employee receives assignments and is expected to carry them through to completion with substantial independence. Work is reviewed for adherence to instructions, accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standard practice or precedent. Recurring work clearly covered by guidelines may or may not be reviewed.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $78,980.60 to $118,470.91
Hourly Salary Range: $37.97 to $56.96
