WHAT WE DO

We prepare surgical instruments and devices. That means we clean, inspect, test, sterilize, store and deliver devices needed for surgery in a healthcare facility. Because of the work we do, surgeons can operate safely on patients in our communities.

We anticipate the needs of our customers. Departments throughout the healthcare facility from the Operating Room to outpatient clinics, depend on the surgical instruments and devices we prepare. These departments rely on our precision, our attention to detail, and our layered skills and knowledge related to surgical instrumentation.

HOW WE PARTNER & LEARN

We collaborate with our vendor partners and the medical teams throughout our facilities to ensure instruments are available when they are needed. The patient always comes first and they deserve the care and attention we give to the safety of the instruments used on them.

We lead by example and believe that the process of learning to be a Sterile Processing technician will never be something we can simply check off our list. The rules change, best practices change, technology changes - Continuing education is an essential part of our professional development because it promotes and encourages quality and safety in the face of the constant evolution.

Current Pay Range:

Non-Certified- $18.00-$26.35 (Based on 40 hours worked per week) / Hourly Salary

Certified- $20.33-$30.50 (Based on 40 hours worked per week) / Hourly Salary

Shift: There are a variety of shifts available for this role- full time and part time. Please identify your preferences in the questions within the application.

Qualifications:

Non Certified-

High School Diploma

Certified:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One-year Sterile Processing Technician experience or

Equivalency: Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technologist program

Certification(s): CBSPD Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) or IAHCSMM Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

Job Highlights:

1. Performs all essential equipment processing functions including issuing out all par levels that have been set for the floors.
2. Performs decontamination functions for all durable medical equipment, as well as, surgical instruments from the Operating Room (OR).
3. Performs Sterile Processing functions with a variety of types of sterilization methods.
4. Participates in professional education and growth opportunities within Sterile Processing. Maintains certifications and stays up to date with current trends in field.
5. Precepts new employees.
6. Participates in departmental, divisional, and/or organizational committees and projects as assigned.
7. Acts as a role model for other team members.
