They will provide professional and scientifically rigorous statistical genetics and informatics expertise. This may include workflow and tool development, development and testing of computational and analytic solutions, study design and analytic consultation, biostatistics expertise, data visualization techniques, support and mentorship of junior lab members, grant writing, and dissemination of results to a variety of audiences with varying levels of computational and statistical expertise. Primary authorship and co-authorship on abstracts, oral and poster presentations, and scientific manuscripts will be involved. Preference will be given to those with a strong background in human statistical genetics and genomics, broad computational skills, and experience with complex data structures, distributed analytic tools, techniques for reproducibility, and open-source solutions.

The Program Manager will join a highly interactive, supportive, and interdisciplinary group of faculty, staff scientists, postdoctoral fellows, engineers, and students in the Department for Biomedical Informatics who are inventing and deploying advanced analytics and knowledge integration approaches. They will also join the thriving community of the Ludeman Family Center for Women's Health Research that supports women's health research and the researchers leading discoveries in sex and gender medicine and women's health. The goal of building this community is to make the Anschutz Medical Campus a leader in translating data into advances in research discoveries, health care delivery, and population health and in scaling these to provide nationwide benefit through innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead data management, processing, and analysis using a variety of methods, approaches, and visualizations, including development of new computational solutions.
  • Develop and implement complex analyses pipelines, programming, and data visualization techniques for multi-layered genetic, clinical, and -omics datasets (transcriptome, epigenome, proteome, microbiome, etc.).
  • Write and submit grant proposals to secure funding for research projects.
  • Oversee and provide informal leadership to the team members, including managing day-to-day priorities, evaluating and redistributing workloads on a temporary basis, and mentoring staff.
  • Disseminate research findings by writing and publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national and international conferences.
