2025 Summer Internship - U.S. Global Wealth Management - Strategic Accounts

Positions are in New York, NY.

You are eligible to apply if you:

  • Are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Must be able to begin full time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2026 - August 2026

  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2025 semester (August 2025 - December 2025)

  • Minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average, on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent, at an accredited 4-year college or university

  • Are business proficient in English

See Yourself as a Strategic Accounts Analyst:

U.S. Global Wealth Management (GWM)'s mission is to create industry leading experiences for financial intermediaries and their individual investor clients while making a strong contribution to PIMCO's overall business results. PIMCO U.S. GWM is responsible for business strategy and client coverage of financial intermediaries, including RIAs, wirehouses, family offices, banks/ brokerage firms, trust banks, platforms, and sub-advisory relationships.

Within U.S. GWM, the Strategic Accounts team's core responsibility is servicing PIMCO's largest intermediary clients (i.e., national & regional broker-dealers, banks, platforms, etc.). Members of the Strategic Accounts team function as strategic advisors, providing highly customized investment solutions and services to meet the unique needs of these key clients. The team's success is measured not just by sales and asset growth, but also by the strength and depth of client relationships, client satisfaction, and the strategic alignment of PIMCO's solutions with client goals. This unique and dynamic business function requires partnership with all corners of the firm, including but not limited to the following teams: Product Strategy, Portfolio Management, Sales, Marketing, Legal & Compliance, Operations.

Responsibilities for this internship include:

  • Conducting research on market trends, competitor offerings, economic indicators, and investment products to support the broader team's ability to differentiate PIMCO's solutions for clients.

  • Using data analytics tools to analyze client portfolios, investment performance, and market data to service existing clients and support internal strategic decision-making.

  • Assisting in the development and execution of client business plans in collaboration with GWM stakeholders, including sales and product strategy teams.

Please note, this is a primarily client relationship management role. While Strategic Accounts analysts collaborate with teams across PIMCO, there are no portfolio management related responsibilities for this role.

You will excel as a U.S. GWM Account Analyst if you:

  • Adopt a team-based approach, communicate effectively, collaborate on key projects, and deliver individual work within expected timelines, all while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

  • Possess a growth mindset by problem-solving, being curious about the role, and thinking creatively about how to contribute to the success of the broader business.

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and investments through relevant coursework, certifications, internship/work experience and/or participation in professional organizations & campus clubs.

  • Due to the technical nature of this role, all full-time members of Strategic Accounts must pass FINRA series exams. In addition, some members have furthered their credentials through an MBA and/or participation in the chartered financial analyst program through the CFA institute.

  • Articulate ideas/strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing.

  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct research and analyze complex data to identify trends and draw meaningful insights; some proficiency in financial modeling is a plus.

  • Possess a solid foundation in finance and economics, along with familiarity with financial statements and basic investment concepts.

  • Possess the ability to develop client relationships into strategic partnerships and have an interest in a client facing finance career.

  • Demonstrate high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.

The PIMCO Internship Experience:

  • The PIMCO Internship Program runs between Monday, June 9 - Friday, August 15, 2025, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration of the program

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Hourly Rate: $ 43.26
