Job Description:

SUMMARY:
Build, install, brace and remove concrete forms constructed of wood or steel to form components of concrete structures. Construct concrete forms including foundations, shoring and decking operations, walls and columns, and other structural elements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform vertical installations and removal, framing and decking operations, pouring of concrete, distinguishing between different types of material and equipment.
• Operate hand tools and motorized equipment including concrete saws, grindersand drills.
• Place and fasten concrete reinforcing by use of rebar.
• Perform other general construction duties as required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must be able to work rapidly and accurately
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required.
• Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
• Must be able to follow specific directions.
• Must be able to judge straight lines, spaces, and proportions.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, percentages, and fractions.
• Must be able to read and understand measuring tools and levels.
• Must be able to compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of an apprenticeship program or an equivalent 4 years of concrete carpentry experience is preferred. High School diploma or GED preferred.

RESUMEN:

Construir, instalar, apuntalar y retirar encofrados de concreto construidos con madera o acero para formar componentes de estructuras de concreto. Construir encofrados de concreto, incluidas las operaciones de cimentacion, apuntalamiento y entablado, muros y pilares, y otros elementos estructurales.

DEBERES Y RESPONSABILIDADES:

• Realizar instalaciones verticales y desmontaje, operaciones de enmarcado y entablado, vertido de concreto, distinguiendo entre diferentes tipos de materiales y equipos.
• Manejar herramientas manuales y equipos motorizados, incluidas sierras para concreto, amoladoras y taladros.
• Colocar y fijar refuerzos de concreto mediante el uso de barras de refuerzo.
• Puede realizar otras tareas generales de construccion segun sea necesario.

HABILIDADES Y DESTREZAS:

• Debe ser capaz de trabajar rapidamente y con precision con las manos.
• Debe ser capaz de subir y mantener el equilibrio en escaleras y andamios.
• Debe ser capaz de encorvarse, arrodillarse, agacharse, arrastrarse, gatear o trabajar en alturas segun sea necesario.
• Debe ser capaz de levantar y transportar objetos que pesen 50 libras
• Debe poder utilizar los brazos y las manos para alcanzar, manejar y manipular objetos.
• Debe ser capaz de seguir instrucciones especificas.
• Debe tener buen ojo para determinar/calcular lineas rectas, espacios y proporciones.
• Debe ser capaz de sumar, restar, multiplicar y dividir numeros enteros, porcentajes y fracciones.
• Debe ser capaz de leer y comprender las herramientas de medicion y los niveles.
• Debe ser capaz de comparar y apreciar las diferencias de tamano, forma y figura de lineas, figuras y objetos.

EDUCACION Y EXPERIENCIA:

Se requiere haber completado un programa de aprendizaje o tener experiencia equivalente a 4 anos en carpinteria de concreto. Diploma de escuela secundaria o el grado de Desarrollo Educativo General (GED, por sus siglas en ingles) preferido.
