The Respiratory Protection Technician serves as the initial point of contact and primary hands-on operator of respirator fit testing and respiratory protection training for Health System staff. This position will provide both hands-on and remote services for all clinical roles throughout the enterprise. The Respiratory Protection Technician will be responsible for working collaboratively with various stakeholders throughout the Health System to ensure the accurate and timely provision of respiratory fit testing and related services to assist in keeping the Health System in compliance with all applicable Federal and State occupational health and safety standards.
Employment Qualifications Required Education: H.S. diploma or equivalent Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental or occupational Health and Safety, or Health Sciences. Licensure/Certification Required: N/A Licensure/Certification Preferred: OSHA 10 Hour or OSHA 30 Hour in General Industry. Minimum Qualifications Years and Type of Required Experience: Minimum three (3) months of professional experience in respirator fit testing or administration of a respiratory protection program. Direct knowledge of respiratory protection regulations and best practices, including but not limited to 29 CFR 1910.134 and ISO 16975-1 through 16975-4. Preferred Experience: One (1) year of experience providing fit testing services or respiratory protection program administration. Professional experience in an educational and/or research hospital environment. Prior experience handling personal identifying information.
