The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (
GSAPP) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks to hire five Post-Doctoral Fellow to participate in a multiple state and site School Mental Health
MTSS project funded by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (
SAMSHA) grant - Project
AWARE (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education). The Project aims to build school districts capacity for delivering comprehensive student mental health
MTSS in collaboration with a research institution, school personnel, community-based providers of behavior health care services, community organizations, families, and youth. The project's primary goals are to enhance school personnel
MTSS implementation that maximizes the healthy social and emotional development of K-12 grader students and prevents youth violence in school districts. These positions are grant-funded positions that can begin immediately. Hires will be part of a highly supportive multidisciplinary research team focused on evaluating and studying the implementation and outcomes of
MTSS school mental health components (e.g., screening, assessments, interventions and supports).
These positions will report to Drs. Emily Graybill, Erum Nadeem and Linda Reddy and will assist in monitoring and evaluating district wide
MTSS implementation. Post doctoral fellows will receive supportive mentorship and career development on executing (a) successful project implementation and evaluation, (b) human subjects protection and confidentiality procedures, data management and analysis, (d) authoring peer-reviewed journal articles, (e) conference presentations and (f) grant proposals. The position will be filled by persons with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, data management, organizational, and research related skills. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Candidates must have a doctorate in Child Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, School Psychology, Quantitative Methods, Special Education, or other related degree in education and experience in school-based research. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with school personnel and a collaborative research team are highly valued. |

Prior research experience and experience working with students with mental health and wellness issues is preferred. |
