Hours Per Week 3 hours a week in class (or online) per 3-credit course and additional hours for grading and course prep

General Responsibilities
Job Description: Human Services Adjunct Pool
This posting is a pool for those interested in teaching the Human Service Program at HCC. Courses in this area cover a variety of content related to Human Service delivery. Qualified applicants will have a degree in Human Services (masters preferred) or related field (psychology, counseling, social work, gerontology, child and family studies etc.) and experience working in a helping field.
Human Services instructors are designed to teach:
* HUMS 110 Introduction to Human Services
* HUMS 120 Medical Aspects of Chemical Dependency
* HUMS 121 Introduction to Chemical Dependency Treatment
* HUMS 122 Individual Counseling Techniques
* HUMS 150 Community Resources and Partnerships
* HUMS 250 Community Services Practicum
* HUMS 123 Group Counseling Skills
* HUMS 124 Family Counseling
Adjunct faculty may teach 1-3 courses each semester, depending on schedule and availability. At HCC, adjunct faculty are invited to participate in professional development (including Faculty and Professional Learning Community), and there may be opportunities to engage in certain faculty teams or special projects.
For assigned course, prepare the course materials, prepare and update the learning management system course site (Canvas), attend required faculty/staff meetings, complete required trainings, meet with students as needed, grade/assess student work, deliver quality instruction, and meet other employment related requirements from the division and the college.
