Position Summary:

LinQuest is seeking an Action Officer to provide Director's Action Group (DAG) support in accordance with established organization/office policies, regulations, and procedures in Chantilly, VA.

The Action Officer directs and oversees the receipt, tasking, tracking and closure of all internal and external tasks*. The Action Officer manages the action tracking system. The Action Officer establishes and maintains effective working relationships with customers and other stakeholders of the Directorate/Office both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform and maintain DAG support functions to include recognition programs, training, security
  • Manage NRO Tracking Information and Enterprise Response (TIER) actions for supported office:

    • Analyze TlERs to route for appropriate completion
    • Monitor and reporting completion progress for managed TlERs
    • Coordinate responses and assess for accuracy
    • Provide consolidated responses to Senior Management for review
    • Complete assigned TIERs using provided instructions
    • Develop written Standard Operating Procedures for the TIER process
    • Generate TIER and related metrics
    • Prepare periodic reports, as required
    • Provide status updates on new, pending, and late actions


  • Analyze and assign or perform actions as appropriate
  • Coordinate responses and assess for accuracy prior to senior management review
  • Manage and execute the action tracking process; develop standard operating procedures- and serve as facilitator for user requirements
  • Monitor progress on actions, generate metrics to demonstrate accountability for meeting deadlines and quality expectations; prepare periodic rep011s on action status and keep leadership aware of late, pending and new actions
  • Disseminate policy and legislative changes to appropriate parties internal to the NRO
  • Draft, proofread, edit and provide final review of internal and external correspondence
  • Coordinate and maintain presentations for audiences up to the NRO level; maintain a quality control process for all presentations
  • Participate in DAG related meetings
  • Participate in internal committees, Integrated Process Teams (IPT), working groups and task forces
  • Manage records generated during the execution of the Directorates' projects and programs in accordance with Federal laws and regulations, as well as NRO Directives and Instructions.
  • Create and assist in the preparation and development of reports, briefings and presentations for various audiences
  • Assist with event planning, attend and facilitate meetings, workshops, conferences and working group sessions, track status and milestones, and provide summary of meetings and meeting minutes when requested.



Required Skills and Experience:



  • 10+ years of experience within any Government OR target 5 years within IC or DoD
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical OR Business-related discipline (Advanced degree preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: federal acquisitions, Department of Defense (DoD) or the /Intelligence Community (IC) budget & finance processes, and National Security policy
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering or project/program management or both
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior executives at multiple organizational levels
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
  • Demonstrated experience adapting to a rapidly changing work environment while maintaining flexibility and versatility
  • Demonstrated experience fostering solid relationships that promote cooperation and communicate expectations
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing situations and make well informed decisions
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively and concisely using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience
  • Demonstrated ability in oral and written communication skills sufficient to compose and deliver clear and concise responses
  • The ability to work in a secure, confined location (i.e., SCIF)
  • TS/SCI CI Poly clearance is required for this position.
