A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a state certified professional that provides direct, hands-on care to individuals. They assist in the direct health care of individuals under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Examples of work include (but are not limited to) checking vital signs and blood sugars, catheter care, specimen collection, obtaining heights and weights, assist with feeding, assist with positioning, lifting and transferring, maintaining inventory of medical supplies, and assisting with cleaning equipment.
